Smokers or drinkers

Drink and driving can cause road accident. Smoking and driving never cause road accident. Evidently drinking (alcohol) is more dangerous than smoking. So why are people more frighten of smokers (by having extensive no smoking zones and never heard of no drinking zones) than drinkers? Misinformation?
