Solving clumsy laptop problem

I have never use a laptop to surf internet until recently. But when i got it, it was so clumsy. I have to hover the pointer over the input box to type into it, else the pointer will jump anywhere and i cant type into the input box then. And merely hovering the arrow over a link will get the page of the link opened. Then i got an idea. I put the sim card from the wireless modem of the laptop into my phone and use my phone as a modem, instead. I can still use the phone for surfing while at the same time using the pc to surf internet. If i want quick typing into an internet page, i ll use the phone but to look at a complete webpage i ll use the laptop
